Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and its largest city and port. Strongly influenced by European culture, Buenos Aires is sometimes referred to as the "Paris of South America".

The city has many museums, historical buildings, shopping centres, hotels and there is a floating casino that departs from Puerto Madero neighbourhood (since casinos are illegal in the city, gambling starts when in international waters).

Buenos Aires holds an annual "Tango Day" each December 11.

In San Telmo, Sundays are devoted to tango shows on the streets and antiques trade in the bazaars around Dorrego Square. Tango shows can be found in establishments such as Rivero's El Viejo Almacén.

The streets around the Recoleta cemetery are a traditional entertainment area. Nowadays, it has lost some of its appeal, and has become a bit more of a tourist zone. Nevertheless, there are enough restaurants, bars, and clubs that there should be something for any taste.
